 | The conifers of Limousin | Douglas, value of future |
Conifers, a still
young massif.
Conifers cover the third of the surface afforested in Limousin.
Three most represented essences are: Douglas, the common Spruce and the Fir-tree, but we also find the Larch, the pectiné Fir tree, the Spruce of Sitka and the laricio Pine.
The massif of conifers is rather young, because it was created thanks to the support of the National Forest Fund from the environment of the 20th century.
It is thus a potential in full development which allows to produce a renewable resource, a generator of jobs and which participates in the preservation of certain dynamism in our rural zones.
